Best of times in Miami

»Posted by on Oct 31, 2011 in Kianiblog | 0 comments

So just as I thought that was it for me this season, a fun series of events made me pack up my bags and head over to sunshine state of Florida to race and explore the Miami area. I was joined by my mate from Australia Sean “Oggi” O´brien and we had a great week of sailing, cruising and partying. We did the IFCA North Americans and had loads of fun racing with the guys over there, and generally felt welcome. And once the wind kicked in we had some great sailing conditions in the most beautiful surroundings. For cruising we picked up the biggest truck they would let us rent(being relatively young and all), and hit the streets. I´ve put together some pics from the best moments of our way too short Miami trip. Hope to be coming back again in the...

End or beginning?

So the PWA world tour racing season has now come to an end, but does that mean that the season is now over? I cant decide. Back in the days when I was studying I remember the winter breaks as being so long and painful, where I could just daydream about setting my feet in the sand at some far away location and launch my windsurfer out in the blue. Getting ready to tackle another season hard!! But now, as this season has come to an end, I´m already stressing about the next one, and I feel that time is very short. Thats not the normal me, so something must have changed. Maybe its because I really want to get started again and get out there and battle it out again on the water. Maybe its just because I really want to get back out on the water no matter what....

Almost at the end

So the month of july is now over and we have gone into the last bit of the summer. The month of August is always my favorite though. The summer is still at its high and if you live in Copenhagen like I do, you know that this is the best time ever to be in this lovely city. Even though I dont spend much time at home, this is the time where I really feel on top and enjoy life the most. After coming home from the worldcup in Aruba I must admit that I had no actual plans until the Fuerteventura worldcup which was to set off around end of the month of july. A couple of days after I got home a friend of mine called me up and asked if I was up for doing a junior kids windsurfing camp at the west side of Denmark, and after a bit of thinking I decided to do it, and the...

Endless Summer..

KK in full force in Aruba. Or so it seems. Times are flying in a very fast pace, and I really don’t know how to slow it down to start enjoying. Feels like I am just drifting back and forth around the planet, a true drifter. Maybe am I forgetting to stop for a moment and think about my life now and then? My friends say I am super lucky with the life that I live and I agree with them. But lately things have been so busy that I haven’t given it much thought. So since last time I blogged I was in Costa Brava for the traditional PWA windsurfing worldcup which brought quite a bit of excitement with hurricane winds and generally all sorts of conditions during one week. After that I took a timeout at home getting some things organized and not long after that...

On the road… for real

Oh man its been hard times. Well I say hard, but in reality I have had the best time ever doing the thing I love the most, windsurfing. Last time I did an update on my blog was from Maui. It was probably some of the best times ever for me. I finished up the Simmer Style photo shoot with a great crew and head on back home to Denmark. I landed in Copenhagen a friday morning and headed home for a nap before my friend picked me up and we drove to the west coast of Denmark to the town of Hvide Sande for the first ever dedicated slalom windsurfing camp. I set up this camp together with a friend and sponsor and it turned out to be a great success. All of our participants went home with new knowledge that they could work on for the rest of the season. After about a week...
